Bungay : C. Brightly, & E. Kinnersly, 1807. A rather scarce and attractive antique map - an early nineteenth century rendition of Switzerland published in the small Suffolk town of Bungay. Engraved by Barlow - almost certainly James Barlow (fl.1790-1810).
Copper line engraving on paper. Original hand colour. Engraved surface 175 x 218mm (approx. 6-7/8" x 8-5/8"). Just a hint of browning, but overall in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

London : Charles Knight, [ca.1845]. A finely worked town-plan of Geneva, giving good detail at a scale of nearly twelve inches to the mile. Inset are an attractive prospect of the city and a smaller plan of the environs. Engraved by the London mapmaker Benjamin Rees Davies (fl.1811-1872) and first published in 1841, as part of a series produced for the "Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge" (1831-1843) - and here in a slightly later impression.

London : London Printing & Publishing Co., [ca.1855]. A handsome antique map - a highly popular Victorian design inset with vignette scenes of Swiss life and history as well as a view of Bern. The overall design is enclosed within an elaborate floral border. The map itself is designed and engraved by Rapkin, the decoration by A.H.Wray and James Baylis Allen.
Steel line engraving on paper. Original outline hand colour, augmented with later wash. Engraved surface 252 x 325mm (approx. 10" x 12-3/4"). In very good and clean state, without the central fold. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
