London : G. W. Bacon, [1900]. A clearly arranged map on a scale of four inches to the mile - a portion of South London centred on Streatham and taking in the whole of Tooting, West Nowood and Upper Norwood, with most of Dulwich, most of Balham, and parts of Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Mitcham and Norbury. Originally produced as Sheet 21 of the 1900 edition of "Bacon's Large Scale Atlas of London and Suburbs".
Lithograph on paper, with original hand colour. Printed surface 336 x 510mm (approx. 13-1/4" x 20-1/8"). Slight furl to central vertical fold, but in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

Line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 65 x 88mm (approx. 2-5/8" x 3-1/2"). Faint mark in lower blank margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

A very attractive antique print - a still rural Church Lane in Tooting - ducks and cattle under trees - the old Saxon church of St. Nicholas Tooting with its round tower in the background. Engraved from an earlier print by James Duffield Harding and here produced for the part-work "Greater London: a Narrative of its History, its People and its Places" published between 1882 and 1884.
