ALLOM, Thomas, 1804-1872 : TORQUAY, DEVONSHIRE.

London : 1831. A most attractive antique print - a view across the harbour to houses nestling at the foot of the hills. Engraved by John R. Davies (fl.1829-1843) from an original study by the gifted Thomas Allom. Originally produced for the part-work series "Devonshire Illustrated" (London : 1828-1832).
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 104 x 156mm (approx. 4-1/8" x 6-1/8"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Originally produced to accompany "The Watering Places of Great Britain" (1833), with the present impression dated to 1860.
