ELLIS, William, 1756-1810 : TRINITY HOUSE, TOWER HILL.

London : J. Stratford, 1805. An early nineteenth-century antique print of Trinity House, then recently built to the designs of Samuel Wyatt. Engraved by Ambrose William Warren (1780-1856) from an original study by William Ellis. Originally produced for James Stratford’s part-work series “London; being an Accurate History and Description of the British Metropolis and its Neighbourhood ... by David Hughson” (London : 1805-1810). “Hughson” was in fact the pseudonym of David Pugh.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 108 x 166mm (approx. 4-1/4” x 6-1/2”). A very good and sharp impression in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 93/015.

[London : Leadenhall Press, 1891]. An antique print – a vignette view of Trinity House. From an original design by the painter and illustrator William Luker and engraved in Paris by Ch. Guillaume & Cie. for the Leadenhall Press publication “London City” (1891).

Payne, originally produced for Payne’s “Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity” (London : 1846-1847) – and here in a slightly later impression.

Engraved by Andrew Birrell (fl.1782-1809) from an original design by the London draughtsman, engraver, printer and printseller, Thomas Prattent (fl.1790-1819), who had premises in Cloth Fair. Originally produced for B. Lambert, “The History and Survey of London and its Environs from the Earliest Period” (London : 1805-1806).

Engraved by the London draughtsman, engraver, printer and printseller, Thomas Prattent (fl.1790-1819), who had premises in Cloth Fair. Originally produced for the “European Magazine” in 1795, but here in a later impression with the imprint of Charles Hulbert of Shrewbury.

Originally produced for Shepherd’s part-work series “London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century” (London : 1829-1832).
