[BLOME, Richard, 1635-1705] : WALBROOK WARD AND DOWGATE WARD WITH ITS DIVISION INTO PARISHES, TAKEN FROM THE LAST SURVEYS. [London : for A. Churchill, J. Knapton & others, 1720]. A fine antique map of the adjacent wards of Walbrook and Dowgate in the City of London, running north from the Thames and the site of the present Cannon Street Station as far as Lombard Street. The area covered takes in parts of Upper Thames Street and Cannon Street, Dowgate Hill, Walbrook, St. Stephen Walbrook and the site of the Mansion House. The map is decorated with a baroque cartouche and the names of nineteen side-streets and alleys are given in a keyed index. Originally produced by Richard Blome in the late seventeenth century, the map remained unpublished until the present version appeared with the 1720 edition of John Stow's "Survey of London". £150 To confirm availability and to purchase this map please note the stock number 23390 and go to the database. [BOWEN, Thomas, 1733?-1790] : WALBROOK WARD AND DOWGATE WARD WITH THEIR DIVISIONS INTO PARISHES ACCORDING TO A NEW SURVEY. [London : R. Baldwin], 1772. A fine antique map of the adjacent wards of Walbrook and Dowgate in the heart of the City of London, running north from the Thames and the site of the modern Cannon Street Station as far as Lombard Street. The area covered takes in parts of Upper Thames Street and Cannon Street, Dowgate Hill, Walbrook, St. Stephen Walbrook and the Mansion House. The map is decorated with a rococo cartouche, vignette views of St. Stephen Walbrook and St. Michael College Hill, and the coats of arms of William Nash, Lord Mayor in 1772, and Sir Richard Glyn, alderman for Dowgate Ward. Originally produced for the "London Magazine" in August 1772.
