[London : George Virtue & Co., 1878]. A handsome antique print - the town and harbour from the cliffs to the east above. Engraved by George Cooke (1781-1834) from an original study by the great J. M. W.Turner. Originally produced in 1820 for Turner's "Picturesque Views of the Southern Coast of England" series (London 1814-1826), but here in a later state printed for "The Turner Gallery, a Series of One Hundred and Twenty Engravings" (London : 1878).
Copper line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 171 x 234mm (approx. 6-3/4" x 9-1/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
