BAKER, Benjamin, 1766-1841 : WESTMORELAND. London : Laurie & Whittle, 1806. A scarce map of the county, originally engraved by Benjamin Baker, later to become principal engraver for the Ordnance Survey, for a series of county maps issued with the "Universal Magazine" between 1791 and 1797. SMITH, Charles, fl.1801-1853 : WESTMORELAND. London : C. Smith, [1828]. One of the more uncommon nineteenth century maps of the county, engraved by John & Gilbert Pickett for the London map-publisher, Charles Smith. Originally produced for Smith's "New English Atlas" (London, 1822), this slightly later edition is dated to 1828. SOLD |

WALKER, J. & C. (WALKER, John, 1787-1873 & WALKER, Charles, fl.1821-1873) : WESTMORLAND. London : Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown & Co., [ca.1860]. A clearly engraved map of the county from the Admiralty engravers John & Charles Walker - on a scale of around three miles to the inch, particular attention being given to the newly built railways.
