[London : George Virtue, ca.1850]. A most attractive antique map of the county, decorated with a "gothick" architectural border, vignette views of Salisbury and Stonehenge, coats of arms, etc. Originally engraved in 1836, the present version, showing some development of the railway system, is dated to about 1850. Originally engraved by William Schmollinger (fl.1831-1837) for the part-work "English Counties Delineated" (London : 1830-1837) prepared by the antiquary Thomas Moule.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 269 x 209mm (approx. 10-5/8" x 8-1/4"). Trimmed a little tight, a few very minor marks and small flaws, but an attractive example. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

London : Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown & Co., [ca.1860]. A clearly engraved map of the county from the Admiralty engravers John & Charles Walker - on a scale of just under four miles to the inch, particular attention being given to the newly built railways. Originally published in 1835, but here in a later and updated version.
Line engraving on paper, with original hand colour. Engraved surface 398 x 330mm (approx. 15-5/8" x 13"). Folding into a contemporary glazed paper case with printed label; case lightly rubbed; some splits to outer folds, but overall in good condition for a fragile item.
