[Frankfurt : Johann David Zunners, 1685]. A striking antique print offering a pleasant panoramic image of seventeenth-century Basle – from the French mathematician, engineer and surveyor Allain Manesson-Mallet. Originally produced for Mallet’s “Description de l’Univers” (Paris : 1683) and here in a slightly later impression produced for the German edition, published as “Beschreibung des Gantzen Welt-Kreisses” (Frankfurt : 1684-1685).
