The column, designed by Benjamin Wyatt and topped by Sir Richard Westmacott’s 1834 statue of the Duke, is shown from Carlton House Terrace. The foreground displays a handsome array of contemporary costume. Engraved by John Woods (fl.1835-1855) from a drawing by the landscape-painter John Francis Salmon.
