[London : J. Mead, 1842]. A charming antique print of the council chamber of Vintners’ Hall on Upper Thames Street – livery, paintings, and a blazing fire. Engraved by Edward Radclyffe (1810?-1863) from an original study by Henry Melville. Originally produced for the part-work series “London Interiors : A Grand National Exhibition” (London : 1841-1844).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 166 x 197mm (approx. 6-1/2” x 7-3/4”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 195/031.

[London : John Tallis & Co., 1852]. A charming small antique print of the exterior of Vintners’ Hall on Upper Thames Street. An engraving from the workshop of A. H. Payne, originally produced for his “Illustrated London, or a Series of Views in the British Metropolis and its Vicinity” (London : 1846-1847), and here in a slightly later impression dating from 1852.
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 166 x 197mm (approx. 6-1/2” x 7-3/4”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 207/103A.

SHEPHERD, Thomas Hosmer, 1793-1864 : VINTNER’S HALL, UPPER THAMES STREET.

London : Jones & Co., [1832]. A pleasant antique print of the exterior of Vintners’ Hall on Upper Thames Street – two men trundle a hand-cart past the wrought-iron gates. Engraved by Robert Acon (1792-1880) from an original study (now in the Museum of London) by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd, the master recorder of nineteenth-century London. From Shepherd’s part-work series “London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century” (London : 1829-1832).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 106 x 148mm (approx. 4-1/4” x 5-7/8”). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 161/174.

London : John Harris, 1812. A pleasant small antique print – the Hall built in the seventeenth century after the Great Fire. Engraved by William Angus (1752-1821) from an original study by an artist identified only as Wilson – and originally produced for the part-work “Beauties of England and Wales” (1801-1816).
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 77 x 97mm (approx. 3” x 3-7/8”). Trimmed close at head, but in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 104/015B.
